Joe’s Automotive Diagnostics & Repair at Your Location

Every Mechanic Starts Somewhere

When I was 17, I owned an old 1986 Ford F-250 that seemed to break down every chance it got.I couldn't afford to pay someone else to repair it, so I started learning how to fix it myself. Every repair taught me something new, and every challenge made me want to understand how vehicles actually worked instead of replacing parts and hoping for the best. That old truck changed everything.I still have it today because it's a reminder of where this business started. After getting my first job in a repair shop, I never stopped learning. I spent years repairing vehicles during the day and researching difficult problems at night. Friends and family started asking for help, side work became regular work, and eventually Joe's Automotive Mobile Repair was born.

Joe’s Automotive Diagnostics & Repair at Your Location

Why I Chose Mobile Auto Repair

Most people don't plan for their vehicle to break down. They certainly don't plan on paying for a tow before anyone even looks at the problem.I started this business because I saw too many people spending money they didn't need to spend just getting their vehicle to a repair shop.By bringing professional diagnostics and repairs directly to your home, workplace, or job site, I can often eliminate the cost, inconvenience, and downtime that comes with traditional auto repair.Today, about 90 percent of my work is performed on-site, and my goal is to eventually complete nearly every repair in the field.

I Believe You Should Understand What's Being Repaired

One thing customers tell me all the time is how much they appreciate being included in the process.

You’re welcome to ask questions while I work.

Get Back On The Road Faster

Why Diagnostics Come First

Diagnostics Before Parts

I’ve seen too many vehicles have good parts replaced because the real problem was never diagnosed. My approach is simple: find the root cause first. Whether you’re dealing with a check engine light, an electrical problem, a diesel issue, or a module that needs programming, accurate diagnostics lead to better repairs and fewer surprises. It’s also why I continue investing in advanced training and certifications to stay current with today’s vehicles.

From family cars and diesel pickups to commercial fleet vehicles

Vehicles I Work On

I repair and diagnose:

  • Domestic vehicles
  • Foreign vehicles
  • Diesel trucks
  • Gasoline vehicles
  • Commercial fleet vehicles
  • Work trucks
  • Personal vehicles

I also perform vehicle programming that often requires a dealership visit, helping customers avoid unnecessary trips whenever possible.

Keeping your Business Running

Helping Local Businesses Stay on the Road

Keeping a fleet running is different than repairing one personal vehicle.

Downtime costs money.

That’s why I provide scheduled fleet maintenance and repairs for businesses throughout the North State, helping reduce unexpected breakdowns and keeping employees on the road.

Commercial customers include local contractors, restoration companies, churches, and businesses that depend on reliable vehicles every day.

Staying current is part of doing the job right

Continuing to Learn

Vehicles have changed a lot over the years. Today’s cars and trucks rely on advanced electrical systems, onboard computers, and dozens of control modules that all have to communicate with each other. Repairing them takes more than mechanical experience, which is why I continue pursuing advanced certifications, manufacturer-level diagnostic training, and ongoing education. Learning never stops in this industry, and neither do I, because my customers deserve repairs that keep up with today’s technology.

FAQ

Everyting you need to know

Do you come to my home or workplace?

Yes. Most repairs and diagnostics can be completed at your home, workplace, or wherever your vehicle is located. Bringing the shop to you saves time, avoids towing, and lets you get back to your day.

I service most domestic, foreign, and diesel vehicles, along with many commercial fleet vehicles. If you’re unsure whether I can work on your vehicle, just give me a call.

A check engine light can be caused by hundreds of different issues. Instead of replacing parts based on a code, I perform proper diagnostics to determine what’s actually causing the problem before recommending repairs.

Yes. Emergency mobile service is available after normal business hours when possible. An after-hours service fee applies for evenings and weekends.

Can you diagnose electrical problems?

Yes. Electrical diagnostics are one of my specialties. Modern vehicles rely on dozens of computers and control modules that communicate with each other. Finding the root cause requires the right equipment and experience, not guesswork.

Both. If you simply need the problem identified, I can perform diagnostics. If repairs can be completed on-site, I can usually take care of them during the same visit.

Not in most cases. If your vehicle won’t start or isn’t safe to drive, I’ll come to you. Many problems can be diagnosed and repaired without the added expense of a tow truck.

I proudly serve Redding, Anderson, Shasta Lake, Cottonwood, Palo Cedro, Shingletown, and surrounding North State communities. I also travel farther for larger jobs. Additional travel charges may apply outside my normal service area.
